Mapping framework for thermal sources and loads in district heating and cooling

Started in the LIFE4HeatRecovery project and further developed in the HeatMineDH and DHC SwEEtch projects, the framework presented in this webinar allows the mapping of waste heat and renewable energy sources, as well as the mapping of thermal loads for district heating expansion and development. It provides an approximate but comprehensive and quantitative screening of all options available on a given area, a key input for planning optimal DHC decarbonization and expansion. Data like yearly available heat, geographical positioning (GIS-based) and approximate time profile are provided as an output.
