Decarbonising Large Urban District Heating Systems

How can Europe’s largest cities accelerate the transition towards sustainable and affordable district heating? The EU-funded project ENABLE DHC invites you to explore this question in the first of its Pan-European Webinars. Throughout the project's final year, this series will showcase the different demo cases of the project, highlighting their baseline scenarios, objectives, and investment plans. The first session, “Decarbonising Large Urban District Heating Systems”, will bring together representatives from three of the project's largest urban centres: Vienna, Ljubljana, and Riga.
Participants will exchange experiences and lessons learnt on the challenges and opportunities involved in transforming large urban district heating networks. Discussions will explore common barriers, successful approaches, and replicable solutions to support other European cities in their transition towards sustainable and affordable district heating. The webinar will conclude with a roundtable discussion, providing an opportunity to share challenges, compare approaches, and explore differences in the cities' experiences.
