The DHC Academy consortium met on 5 February in Lund, Sweden for an in-person meeting hosted by Lund University, marking an important step as the project enters its second year.

The meeting brought together project partners to review progress and align on upcoming activities. Discussions focused on coordination and governance frameworks for the DHC Academy Alliance, as well as on the concrete design and deployment of the project’s core educational outputs.

Partners confirmed that activities are progressing according to plan and that collaboration across work packages remains strong. Particular attention was given to governance structures and the long-term vision of the DHC Academy Alliance, which aims to ensure the sustainability and impact of the Academy beyond the project’s lifetime.

A central focus of the meeting was the development of the Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) course catalogues. Partners exchanged views on curriculum structure, learning outcomes, and alignment with industry needs, ensuring that the future training offer effectively addresses skills gaps in the district heating and cooling sector.

The consortium also reviewed progress on the design of the DHC Academy digital learning platform, including its planned functionalities and user experience. Partners discussed how the platform will host and integrate training content, support interaction between learners and educators, and facilitate cross-border knowledge exchange.

As a cornerstone of the project, the platform will enable accessible, high-quality training and support the Academy’s ambition to become a long-term European reference point for district heating and cooling skills development.

The meeting in Lund reaffirmed the consortium’s shared commitment to delivering concrete, industry-relevant training solutions in the coming months, as the project moves further into development, testing, and refinement of its educational offer, laying the foundations for piloting activities and broader engagement with stakeholders across Europe.
