SDEWES Dubrovnik 2023

REWARDHEAT is organising a Special Session, ‘Planning and modelling of next-generation district heating and cooling systems’ at the upcoming Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems (SDEWES) in Dubrovnik, Croatia, taking place between 24-29 September 2023.
Future energy systems will heavily rely on district heating and cooling (DHC) systems. They can use nearby urban waste heat sources, couple the power and heating sectors, and integrate renewable energy.
Although being a well-known technology, DHC networks continue to advance by lowering temperature regimes and boosting energy effectiveness. This makes introducing novel substations, new supply and storage technologies, and prosumer business models possible.
Researchers working on the planning and modelling of the next district heating and cooling systems are invited to submit the abstract of their paper for this session by 26 June 2023 and present their results.
Potential research topics include power-heating sector coupling via DHC systems, waste heat utilization, novel prosumer business models, thermal storage in new DHC systems, and heat planning of novel DHC systems. They also include the optimisation of DHC systems, DHC network expansion planning, the role of DHC systems in renewable energy systems, and others.
Guidelines:
- authors should use the online submission application located at: https://registration.sdewes.org/dub2023
- when asked for, in the appropriate form field authors should enter the following code: sdbv23plmng
Paper deadlines for SDEWES2023
