Euroheat & Power appoints Aurélie Beauvais as new Managing Director
Euroheat & Power (EHP), the international network for district energy promoting sustainable heating and cooling, is delighted to announce the appointment of Aurélie Beauvais as the association's new Managing Director. She succeeds Paul Voss, who served as Managing Director of the association during the past 7 years.
Aurélie brings over a decade of experience in political strategy, advocacy and EU energy & climate policies. She previously held the position of Deputy CEO and Policy Director of SolarPower Europe from 2017 to 2021. She also headed the European Affairs department of the French Union of Electricity from 2012 to 2017.
"I am thrilled to join Euroheat & Power, and look forward to working with its talented team as well as outstanding community of members, partners, and supporters", Aurélie Beauvais said.
She added: "The current energy crisis shed a crude light on the need to invest massively in home grown and sustainable heating sources. Locally owned and a European industrial flagship, district heating can supply half of the EU heating demand by 2050. It will strengthen our independence from fossil fuels imports and accelerate the decarbonisation of Europe's heating sector."
EHP President Birger Lauersen added "Euroheat & Power has recruited the best possible replacement to drive our sector forward. In 2019, the European DHC industry committed to fully decarbonising before 2050. Delivering sustainable and affordable heating and cooling to EU citizens is a fundamental necessity that must be prioritised. Aurélie's drive and experience will make us stronger and better placed to achieve this shared ambition."
