New report on waste heat

The paper highlights the significant potential of waste heat, which amounts to 2,860 TWh/y, almost corresponding to the EU’s total energy demand for heat and hot water in the residential and service sectors (figures: Heat Roadmap Europe).

In addition, it spotlights the policy measures that need to be taken to realise the potential. It is perfect timing to underline the potential of waste heat because Europe is now looking at alternatives to imported fossil fuels under the REPowerEU plan.
