The Euroheat & Power 2016 General Assembly has appointed the association’s new President and Vice-President for the coming two years.

The General Assembly took place today in Frankfurt, Germany, during the 22nd International Trade Fair and Congress for heating, cooling and cogeneration (En+Eff 2016).

The new Euroheat & Power President, Werner Lutsch, is the President of AGFW, the German energy efficiency association for heating, cooling and cogeneration. On taking up the new role, Mr. Lutsch said: “The success of Euroheat & Power in carrying out its mission is critical to the wider development of our industry. That’s why I am delighted to have this opportunity to contribute. I’m looking forward to working closely together with Paul and the rest of the Secretariat as well as our newly appointed Board of Directors to help build the bright future that the district energy sector deserves”.

Birger Lauersen, Manager International Affairs in the Danish District Heating Association (Dansk Fjernvarme) is Euroheat & Power’s new Vice-President. “Euroheat & Power is the European voice of the heating and cooling industry. I look forward to playing my part in taking the organisation forward and bringing the technology and the sector closer to realising its true potential. The EU strategy on heating and cooling outlined the importance of a sustainable heating and cooling sector. I’m ready to proceed with our task and present our response to the challenges we face in fulfilling the EU climate and energy goals.” said Mr. Lauersen earlier today.

Speaking after the appointments were made official, Euroheat & Power Managing Director Paul Voss said “I couldn’t think of two better partners with whom to pursue the shared ambitions of our organisation. Together, we have the opportunity to achieve the success we need in the short term while laying the foundation for continuous growth and development in the years to come.”
