The objective of COOL DH action is to support cities in their endeavour to plan and deploy new, efficient district heating and cooling systems and extend, refurbish existing ones to higher standards. Thus allowing greater uptake of renewables, recovering of excess heat or cold while improving the overall efficiency of the systems.
After the first European Technical Workshop organised in Brussels in June, the 1st European Technical Webinar allowed to get feedback from the DHC+ community about the COOL DH results. The webinar was be a valuable occasion to gather researchers, technicians and utilities to debate about the future of district heating, the use of surplus heat and local resources for low- and ultra-low temperature networks.
The webinar focused both on technical and non-technical topics concerning the COOL DH innovations and front-runner demo sites (i.e. Europe’s largest LTDH network in Lund) with a particular attention to the envisaged technical solutions being applied.
