Geoffroy is a French engineer, specialized in modelling, analysis and design of renewable thermal energy systems including means of heat production (solar, waste heat, biomass, heat pump, etc.) and thermal storage. Working at PlanEnergi since 2019, Geoffroy has been involved in several international collaboration research projects involving modelling of seasonal thermal energy storages, and has performed techno-economic feasibility studies for various countries worldwide.

Stefan Holler received his doctoral degree in environmental engineering from the University of Stuttgart.
He was a research fellow at Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology from 1998 to 2001, when he became a manager at the utility company MVV Energie, Mannheim, in the Corporate department for technology and innovation.
In 2010 he was appointed professor at the University of Applied sciences in Hanover. Since 2014 he has been teaching and researching at HAWK University of Applied sciences and Arts in Göttingen.

Einari Kisel is the Head of Strategy and Partnerships at the FinEst Centre for Smart Cities. In parallel he is also a Member of Supervisory Board and Audit Committee of Eesti Energia AS (state-owned energy utility).
Before current duties he was acting from 2014 until 2020 as the Regional Manager for Europe in the World Energy Council Secretariat in London. From 2002 until 2012 he was engaged in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia firstly as the Director of Energy Department and since 2008 as the Undersecretary of State for Energy.
Prior 2002 he worked for 7 years in Eesti Energia AS in different leading positions, his last duty was the appointment as the Director of Energy Trade.
Einari Kisel has received a PhD degree in Power Engineering (2017), and Master degrees both in Business Administration (1998) and in Thermal Engineering (1995) from Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech).

Aksana joined Euroheat & Power in February 2013, and gradually progressing into more advanced roles, in September 2022, she became Director of Knowledge Transfer.
Aksana has been involved in an important number of EU funded projects leading communication and dissemination activities, social media strategy and European replication actions. She is in charge of DHC+ members' relations, knowledge transfer and DHC+-related communications. In addition, she coordinates the Global District Energy Climate Awards and Education & Training initiatives, such as the International DHC+ Summer School and DHC+ Student Awards.
She is passionate about supporting young generation and cities in learning how to plan, deploy new and modernise existing DHC networks. She does so by leveraging on the solid basis that Euroheat & Power members and projects have created in the past years.

Kristina Lygnerud has worked on district energy since 2004. First researching innovation and risk management, thereafter working as a strategy developer for one of the ten largest multi utility companies for 5 years before progressing to the Swedish Environment Research Institute working on business models for low temperature heat recovery schemes.
Since 2018 she is on the board of DHC+ Platform, the European innovation hub on district heating and cooling and since 2021 she chairs it. Working specifically on the EU taxonomy for the case of district heating she is also participating in the EUs’ Investors Dialogue on Energy. Since 2022, Kristina is also engaged as Professor in Energy Sciences at Lund University part of her time.

Margus has more than 25 years of experiences in energy sector, working in different positions from expert to manager and in various functions from production to customer. He was a member of project team for developing and constructing one of the Baltic’s and Estonia’s first combined heat and power plant, Tartu CHP. Recent years Margus has been focusing on innovations of district energy. He was the Development Manager of the first district cooling plant in the Eastern-European region. Tartu Downtown district cooling plant was opened in 2016 and it was a cornerstone of district cooling sector in the region. In the lead of Margus next DC plant in Tartu was opened in 2017 and he also consulted the project of Pärnu DC, which was opened in 2019. Besides district cooling, Margus was a team member in Horizon 2020 Related project where the team was investigating low-temperature heating opportunities.
Today Margus is coordinating the development and innovation of Tartu DHC system, keeping the focus on expansion of district cooling and achieving the climate neutrality. Margus holds master’s degree in energy and thermal engineering engineer, level 7.

Anna Volkova is the head of the research group "Smart district heating solutions and integrated assessment of the environmental impact of greenhouse gas emissions". After completing her doctoral studies at Riga University of Technology, she has been working at the Department of Energy Technology in Tallinn University of Technology for 12 years doing excellent research and giving great contribution to Estonian district heating sector. She has led several research projects investigating the possibilities of district heating, such as studies on the implementation of cogeneration and thermal energy storage, and the development of a mobile application introducing fourth-generation district heating to consumers.

Sven carries out research about district heating for the future needs in both Sweden and Europe.
Sven Werner was born in Vänersborg in 1952. Following on from his Master of Science in Engineering degree obtained from Chalmers in 1977, he worked for a year in the business world before returning to Chalmers for doctoral studies. He defended his PhD thesis in 1984. He returned to the business world again with the Borås Energi public utility company and the Fjärrvärmebyrån organisation.
Sven Werner has been part of the DHC+ Summer School since its first edition in 2013. He is retired since 2019, but keeps investing his time in this important DHC+ initiative.
