“Renewables in District Heating and Cooling”
Shining examples from the industries

Free download (pdf, 3.2Mb)

The district heating infrastructure epitomizes use of renewable energy sources
in satisfying urban heat demands. It creates an opportunity to combine a large
spectrum of renewable fuels and ‘free’ energy inputs, such as surplus heat from
electricity production, waste incineration and industrial processes. District cooling
is emerging as a complimentary energy efficient tool for providing comfortable and
reliable indoor climate during summer.

This brochure illustrates the variety of renewable energy sources used in district heating
infrastructures to warm and cool human living spaces.

For more information on use of renewables with district heating and cooling and on the
Euroheat & Power's work in this are please contact Eloi Piel.

“Euroheat & Power Certification Guidelines for Quality
Assessment of District Heating Pipes"

Free download (pdf, 5Mb)

Certification in accordance with these guidelines enables an increased product quality level
sound competition and more reliable and easier procurement in a cost efficient way by
avoiding multiple testing and inspections in production of preinsulated district heating pipes

(EN 253 and EN 15698-1) and fitting assemblies (EN 448)
both single and twin pipe system, with or without surveillance system EN 14419.
These guidelines were approved by the Board of Euroheat & Power and are endorsed by
National Association Members.
All producers are encouraged to apply the certificaton procedure according to these guidelines,
and district heating companies are encouraged to buy and use only certified products

The list of Certification Bodies and Test Institutes is
available here and the list of certificates obtained is here.
