CERTIFICATION
GUIDELINES
|
Euroheat
& Power and its Task Force Transport & Distribution have
developed "EHP Guidelines for quality marking of district
heating pipes". The Guidelines have been approved by Euroheat
& Power's Board of Directors on 30 June 2005. By creating
a common framework based on a European quality mark, the Guidelines
aim at enhancing the quality of the district heating sector across
Europe. A simplified system based on European certificate/quality
mark instead of national ones will be put in place. Utilities
and manufacturers are invited to join this platform on a voluntary
basis.
The
objective of the Guidelines is to enhance the quality level of
the products used, to provide a framework for sound competition,
to support the quality assurance of the products and to increase
the cost effectiveness for suppliers and users.

The
guidelines shall serve as a common tool for the procurement of conventional
and standardized products falling under the scope of the European standards
EN 253 and EN 448 for straight pipes and fittings. National associations
having endorsed the guidelines recommend buying and using only certified
products. An updated list of national association which have endorsed
them is available on the back cover of the guideline. The updated list
of the Certification Board members can be downloaded here.
Products
and manufacturers meeting the requirements set out in the Guidelines
will be included in an open list, which will be kept and regularly updated
by the Euroheat & Power Certification Board.
